Johann Pachelbel
Pachelbel's Canon is a Baroque canon for three upper voices and continuo. The repeated bass pattern anchors the form while the imitative entries keep the counterpoint in constant motion.
Solo guitar portfolio
A warm, elegant recital space for Brazilian classical guitar, beloved Christmas melodies, and the quiet courage of a new musical dream.
Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D is a strict canon built from imitative entries over a repeating bass pattern. The interest comes from the way the voices overlap, answer one another, and thicken the texture as the cycle unfolds.

Biography
Mark Welch came to the guitar after a life built around family work, responsibility, and change. He grew up inside a father-and-son business, and after his father's passing he felt the need for a new challenge, a new beginning, and a dream that had always lived quietly in his soul.
Picking up the guitar changed the direction of his life. What began as a personal calling became a source of beauty, discipline, and renewal. Through Brazilian classical guitar, tender Christmas arrangements, and intimate solo works, Mark shares music that feels both carefully studied and deeply personal.
His hope is simple: that listeners find the same wonder, fulfillment, and warmth in the music that he has found in following it.

Dilermando Reis gave the Brazilian guitar a singing, sentimental language rooted in waltz, choro, and popular melody. Mark's Reis selections focus on longing, promise, tenderness, and the expressive idea of saudade.
Baden Powell blended classical technique with samba, choro, and Afro-Brazilian rhythm. Valsa Sem Nome keeps the elegance of a waltz while letting the guitar move with unmistakably Brazilian phrasing.
Merlin's Evocacion comes from Suite del Recuerdo, music shaped by remembrance and folk character. The piece asks the guitarist for patience, color, and a voice that can hold silence as beautifully as sound.
The holiday performances bring familiar melodies into a quiet recital setting. On solo guitar, the arrangements rely on balance: melody above, harmony below, and enough space for each phrase to glow.
